THE EQUIPMENT
All images are created with the professional digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera by which all others are compared – the Canon EOS D1s MkII. To start, this is a 16.7 mega pixel camera constructed of the some of the strongest materials available. The dynamic range, color accuracy and incredible ability to capture details in shadows and highlights are additional features of this truly superb camera. Due to its extremely high price, only professionals demanding the highest quality images typically own this camera.
Since an incredible camera will only give mediocre results when inferior lenses are used, we use only professional standard Canon “L” lenses to create each image. The optical quality of these lenses is truly amazing and far exceeds the quality of consumer grade optics costing thousands of dollars less.
All prints are printed on professional standard equipment as well. The Epson professional printers featuring archival Ultra Chrome inks offer images that are not only crisp, vibrant and sharp, but also ones that will look as good as the day printed, decades and even centuries later.
One can be assured that any and all images created by John & Cassidy Olson have been done so using the finest professional equipment, meeting the highest standards – from time of capture, to the final printed image.
